Fire Station #30 Project Type» Commercial, Specialty

Description
Synergy Construction is building the Seattle Fire Department's new Fire Station 30 in the Mount Baker neighborhood. This project involves first demolishing the existing station and then constructing the new, 9,121-square-foot station on a very tight site. The completed building will be certified LEED Version 2.2 Silver and will include geothermal mechanical systems and copper siding. To begin the project, Synergy navigated unusually poor soil conditions, caused by a spring on one side of the site, by executing complicated excavation and foundation work. Initial construction has featured an augercast-pile foundation, cable railing systems, and upgraded mechanical and electrical systems.
